MEET YOUR CURATOR

CURATED BY COASTLINES, FOR SOUTHLINE
Coastlines is a Charleston-born lifestyle brand and Southline’s independent curation partner. It brings a point of view to the details around a stay—from coffee, amenities and listening recommendations to the places that make a destination feel personal.
Here, curated by Coastlines means a considered shortlist inside a generous Southline area guide. We look for character, people who care about their craft and experiences that belong to the place. Not simply the most expensive table or the most photographed room.
Coastlines Favorites lead each category. Broader Southline recommendations follow. Both groups are alphabetical, so discovery stays easy.
Southline provides the full guide and your guest support. Coastlines adds its independent point of view. The mark is a recommendation, not a certification or special-access pass.
One good anchor and a little space around it usually make a better day than crossing the peninsula for every stop.
Galleries, the harbor, Queen Street and 32 Vendue Range. Begin with coffee; let a walk become a browse.
Shopping, Bin 152, Rainbow Row and the Battery. Keep a pause in the plan rather than walking the whole city at once.
Books, a spa appointment, an occasion dinner or a downtown college game. Check the walking distance between your actual stops.
Neighborhood dining, Wine & Company and smaller discoveries. For Patriots Point or a bridge walk, plan a separate Mount Pleasant outing.
No places match that combination. Try a broader search or clear the filters.

THE COASTLINES EDIT / DINING
These are the places we have selected for their food, atmosphere and sense of place. Start with the Coastlines Favorites, then make the evening your own.
Some nights call for a reservation. Others are better with time to wait, one more plate and no rush to leave.

254 Coming Street, Charleston, SC 29403

WINE BAR + BOTTLE SHOP
Midtown · Meeting Street
Stay for a glass, talk through a region or choose a bottle for the house. This wine bar and retail shop makes room for both curiosity and an occasion.
The Coastlines takeJohn’s personal favorite. The conversation is as much the draw as what ends up in the glass.

THE PEOPLE BEHIND THE PLACES / JOHN’S PICK
Meet Josh Walker and Wine & Company.
A personal favorite of Southline’s John Woelfel, Wine & Company captures the Coastlines point of view: thoughtful bottles, an easy welcome and people who make the evening more personal.
Founder Josh Walker and the team bring together a wine bar, a retail shop and opportunities to taste and learn. Start with what you enjoy, what you are curious about and what you want to spend. Let the conversation shape the choice.
“Our dream has always been to make space at the table for everyone”
Josh Walker, quoted by Holy City Sinner, July 2025.

Plan it. Use Waterfront Park and Rainbow Row as separate map stops. This pairs naturally with 32 Vendue Range and the French Quarter.
Waterfront Park, 1 Vendue Range, Charleston, SC
A SOUTHLINE MINI-GUIDE / WONDERS’ WAY
The Ravenel Bridge is not just the way into Charleston. It can be part of the day.
For a first visit, choose an easy out-and-back from the Mount Pleasant side rather than committing everyone to a full crossing. Decide your turnaround before you start.
Distances: SC Trails. The full out-and-back is twice the published one-way distance; getting from your parking spot to the path adds distance.

Use the Memorial Waterfront Park / Visitor Center area on the Mount Pleasant side as your starting reference. Check the current parking layout, follow signs to the shared path and use the park facilities before heading up.
The approach climbs and the path is exposed. Bring water and sun protection; choose cooler hours. Skip the crossing in thunderstorms, high winds or conditions that do not suit your group. Share the path attentively with cyclists.
Return to the park for a pause by the water. A Patriots Point match or a Mount Pleasant meal can be a separate follow-on, not a reason to rush across the bridge. Arrange transport rather than assuming a route is short.
Use a whole itinerary or borrow one pairing. These are editorial suggestions, not timed routes or confirmed reservations.
01 / THE CITY + ITS MAKERS
MORNINGHarken, the French Quarter and Robert Lange Studios. Stop at Maris DeHart and Coastlines at 32 Vendue Range.
AFTERNOONChoose Lower King shops such as Ibu or Croghan’s. Leave room for a bottle and cheese at Bin 152.
EVENINGReserve a meal that suits the group—or call it a good day and return to the coast.
02 / A FAMILY DAY WITH A FINISH
MORNINGBook the South Carolina Aquarium, then keep lunch nearby. For an art-minded group, substitute the Gibbes or a gallery.
AFTERNOONMake room for a proper rest. A tired child is not an invitation to add one more museum.
EVENINGChoose a RiverDogs home game, a Battery match in Mount Pleasant or a College of Charleston event. Confirm the actual venue.
03 / YOUR KIND OF SLOW
MORNINGA shorter Wonders’ Way bridge walk in suitable weather—or a waterfront stroll downtown.
AFTERNOONA pre-booked spa treatment, a bookstore or time with no destination. Leave enough time to enjoy the pause.
EVENINGWine & Company, followed by a planned neighborhood dinner. Arrange your return ride before the first glass.
When it rains: choose the aquarium, a museum, a gallery, a Candlefish workshop or a spa appointment. Check opening days and booking requirements; indoor does not mean available without a reservation.
