THE DESTINATION GUIDES / IOP / WD / SUIIsle of Palms, Wild Dunes & Sullivan’s
Front Beach mornings. A lighthouse walk. Seafood above the ocean. A shared guide to three distinct ways to enjoy the coast.
A SOUTHLINE GUIDE / WITH FAVORITES SELECTED BY COASTLINES

Know the neighborhood
Choose for the day you want. Keep the geography clear: a nearby restaurant, a gated community and a hotel facility are not the same kind of access.
Front Beach, the marina, neighborhood restaurants and the Southline office on Carolina Boulevard.
A gated community on Isle of Palms, with golf and separately controlled resort amenities.
Middle Street dining, Goldbug, the lighthouse and Fort Moultrie across Breach Inlet.
Mainland spa and shopping options. It is a separate destination—not an IOP address.

A Southline stay. A Coastlines point of view.
Coastlines is Southline’s independent lifestyle and curation partner. From the details of a stay to the places worth discovering, it brings a considered, Charleston-born point of view.
The Coastlines mark identifies a smaller selection within this guide. These are places chosen for their character, the care behind them and the experience they add to a day. They lead each category; more good options follow.
Southline remains your contact for the home, planning and arrangements. A favorite is a recommendation—not a certification or a promise of availability or access.

COASTLINESTHE COASTLINES FEATURE / Coda del Pesce
Coda del Pesce is our featured table on Isle of Palms: Italian seafood, handmade pasta and a room that puts the coastline in the evening.
Reserve a table and give the meal the attention it deserves. This is a good occasion to leave the beach bag at home, arrive without rushing and let dinner be the main event.
Coda is upstairs at 1130 Ocean Boulevard. Confirm access needs and your reservation directly. Table location and a particular view cannot be guaranteed.

THE DETAILS / IOP / WD / SUI
An open island does not mean unrestricted parking, golf-cart routes or access to private pools.
Our Isle of Palms office is at 1022 Carolina Boulevard. Use the guest-support contact in your reservation for arrival and home questions; contact us before visiting. Follow the entry and parking instructions for your specific home.
Southline preview siteA pool is included only when identified in your rental. Confirm the opening season, heat availability, advance notice and any heating charge. IOP Recreation Center is useful for exercise and play, but it is not a public swimming-pool option.
Official detailsIOP Recreation Center’s cardio room is free and open to visitors during staffed hours, with sign-in. Ages 16+ may use it; ages 12–15 require a parent or guardian. Courts and programs have their own schedules. Call 843-886-8294.
Official detailsYour home’s permitted route is the first choice. Front Beach has multiple public accesses; IOP County Park, 1 14th Avenue, adds restrooms, showers, a playground and seasonal designated lifeguards. Confirm beach-wheelchair and accessible-route availability at 843-762-9964.
Official detailsUse legal visitor spaces and the current City parking map. Do not block driveways, mailboxes or beach accesses; keep all tires off the road where required. Resident-only privileges do not transfer simply because you booked a rental. Palm Boulevard has section-specific parking rules.
Official detailsA golf cart and a street-legal LSV are not interchangeable. Ask the rental company for the exact permitted route and operating conditions. Standard carts cannot travel along SC 703/Palm Boulevard, though lawful crossings may be permitted. Neither carts nor LSVs belong on the IOP Connector or beach.
Official detailsNo alcohol, glass, smoking/vaping, fires or fireworks on the beach. Follow bans on specified single-use plastics and remove equipment at sunset. Fill holes and protect dunes. E-bikes/e-skateboards are prohibited on the beach from Memorial Day through Labor Day.
Official detailsApril 1–September 14: 5–9 a.m. September 15–March 31: 4 p.m.–10 a.m. Leash outside those windows, including in the water. Keep the leash in hand when off-leash and maintain voice control; carry the required vaccination documentation.

Wild Dunes is on Isle of Palms. It adds a private-community layer to City rules and your home’s individual amenities.
The main gate, Gate 1, serves community residents and guests. Southline will specify your entry and passes. Do not follow the hotel’s Gate 3 check-in instructions unless specifically directed. Display the vehicle pass and use only your home’s allocated parking. Security: 843-886-2128.
Official detailsSweetgrass, Grand Pavilion, Boardwalk Inn and Swim Center benefits advertised for qualifying resort bookings are not automatically included with a Southline stay. A private-home or condominium pool may be included separately. Get its name, entry method, dates and limits before arrival.
Official detailsA treatment, dinner or tee time does not grant all-resort access. Confirm fitness-center eligibility and any fee directly. Tennis, pickleball, clinics and children’s programs are individually booked services with their own availability and conditions.
Official detailsStandard rental golf carts are prohibited. Rental LSVs must meet the community’s rules and come from an authorized provider; some buildings impose further restrictions. Port City is not on the presently published authorized list. Confirm written approval before arranging any delivery.
Official detailsUse the permitted boardwalk for your neighborhood—not another condominium’s private access. Follow posted community speed limits and give walkers/cyclists space. IOP beach, dog, fire and parking rules still apply outside the home’s private property.
Official detailsSouthline handles the home, arrival and your reservation. Resort staff handle services you book with the resort. For emergencies call 911 and give the exact home address or beach-access location; do not wait for a booking-office reply.

A public beach, a compact village and a quieter pace. Plan around access paths, limited facilities and Town rules.
A day trip does not require a resort amenity pass. Public beaches do not include a pool or hotel facilities. Use the public beach crossings and legal visitor parking rather than private drives or neighboring homes.
Official detailsPlan water, shade and a bathroom stop before settling in. Do not assume public restrooms, showers or lifeguards at a numbered station. Ask the Town about current accessible access options before choosing a route.
Official detailsThe lighthouse is near Station 18½ Street. Current National Park Service rules close both the tower and its fenced grounds to ordinary public entry, except authorized activities. Enjoy the view from permitted public areas.
Official detailsPowerful tidal currents make the inlet a place to appreciate from shore. Choose an ocean-facing beach area away from inlets and obey warnings. Our recommendation is not to swim or wade in the inlet.
Official detailsVisiting dogs need the Town’s annual permit. May–September: off-leash 5–10 a.m.; no dogs on the beach 10 a.m.–6 p.m.; leash at other permitted times. October–April: off-leash 5 a.m.–noon, leashed otherwise. Effective control is always required.
Official detailsPermitted beach fires are limited to October 1–April 30, Friday–Sunday, at assigned stations. The current nonresident cost is $300 plus a $500 refundable deposit. Apply in person; the applicant must be 21+. Capacity is limited, and day-of Fire Department approval is required.
Official detailsStreet-legal LSVs may use Breach Inlet Bridge under Town rules, but may not cross Ben Sawyer Bridge. Golf carts and LSVs have different operating conditions. Get the approved route from the rental provider and follow posted limits.
Official detailsFollow the posted speed and parking signs; do not block paths or drives. No alcohol or glass on the beach. Use designated crossings, keep off dunes, take away rubbish and obey current restrictions on motorized beach use. A nearby home is not a public facility.

Southline preview siteReserve chairs, umbrellas, bikes or boards for the exact home. Ask separately about surf lessons and their meeting beach. Setup rules, gate access and supplier coverage need to fit your address.
Official detailsWhere arranged by Southline, a cart kept at the property can be rented through Port City. It is not included merely because it is parked there. Wild Dunes has different approved-vendor restrictions.
Official detailsPair a short beach session with IOP County Park’s facilities, playground time at the Recreation Center, or a pre-booked eco-tour. For a full rainy day, Charleston’s aquarium is a separate mainland outing.
Official detailsIn an emergency, call 911 and provide the exact address or nearest beach access. Check NWS Charleston for conditions. Do not swim at Breach Inlet or turn an unknown tidal channel into a swimming plan.
Official detailsUse the private arrival guide for gate instructions, a named pool, permitted beach route and parking. This public guide does not provide credentials or expand the home’s amenity rights.
Southline previewGOLF / TENNIS / PICKLEBALL
Wild Dunes offers two 18-hole Tom Fazio designs. Golf is separately booked; it is not evidence that every resort amenity is included.

| Course | Designer | Holes | Access |

| Harbor Course | Tom Fazio | 18 | Resort + public booking |
The resort currently opens only one of the two courses to public and resort play on a given day. Check the actual course for your date; do not plan both as a same-day public itinerary. Links has a coastal finish; Harbor takes in marshes and lagoons.
Course information & bookingBook the court, clinic or lesson—not merely a resort visit. Confirm outside-rental eligibility, equipment, fees and gate arrangements.
Official detailsThe Recreation Center offers public court facilities subject to posted use, lessons and programmed activities. Check the current schedule rather than assuming a court will be free.
Official detailsMake a reservation suited to your group and leave enough time for arrival, equipment and the right clubhouse. Keep pool, gym and private Club privileges separate from the activity booking.
